POSITION OVERVIEW


The Director of Sales is a leadership position responsible for total revenue and yield strategy development and implementation. Strategies to include market mix, pricing, status, direct sales and personnel. This position is accountable for performance across multiple business lines and markets and for meeting budget, forecast and optimal business mix targets.


This position will be expected to develop, train and mentor the sales team to deliver a world class customer experience while aggressively pursuing new business, penetrating existing business and maintaining profitability.




ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales team through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and reservations for the company.

  • Recruit, Interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate.

  • Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and standards of performance are met. Give guidance and counsel staff toward improvement.

  • Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the sales department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly forecast, lead management system, sales force and sales meeting minutes.

  • Coordinate ongoing research of the corporate housing industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets.

  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.

  • Initiate preparation of computerized annual business plan and execute plans as outlined, critically examining and adjusting as deemed necessary by current market conditions.

  • Organize and/or attend scheduled sales department, executive committee, and related meetings.

  • Direct and manage all sales activities to maximize revenue for the company.

  • Prepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals, sales budget, forecasts and other reports as directed/required.

  • Professionally represent V-Suites nationally within industry organizations and events.



Job Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, recruitment, supervision, training, and motivation of managers.

  • Ability to effectively listen, communicate and perform diplomacy with internal and external customers and team members in all situations.

  • Project a friendly and professional personality with desire to lead, develop and be a hands-on mentor to associates.

  • Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with all levels and departments within the company as well as external clients, vendors and partners.

  • Ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive tasks and make quick decisions while maintaining company standards and profitability.

  • Knowledge of travel/corporate housing industry, current market trends and economic factors.

  • Ability to access, understand and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.

  • Ability to travel (typically less than 25%) and to be available to team members outside of regular business hours.





REQUIREMENTS



  • College degree.

  • Multi-location supervisory experience, preferably in corporate housing, hotel/hospitality or similar industry.

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of sales leadership in similar sized operation, preferably in corporate housing, hotel/hospitality or similar industry.

  • Strong financial and business knowledge.
