Job Description

Real Estate Acquisitions and Development Analyst at Albion Residential is responsible for working closely with senior executives on the development and acquisition teams and will be responsible for complex analytical and financial modeling of acquisitions, developments and redevelopments. This position will allow the analyst to grow in their career and gain valuable experience covering all aspects of the acquisition and development process for multi-family housing. 


  • Create complex excel valuation models in support of acquisition and development activities, stressing property and joint venture performance while simultaneously evaluating various investment structures with unique distribution characteristics (i.e. joint venture equity, preferred equity, and debt)

  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of proposed transactions

  • Produce project acquisition and development materials necessary for presentations related thereto

  • Help coordinate the closing of transactions

  • Prepare and compile due diligence materials, budgets, financial models, market reports and schedules

  • Stay informed of current industry and market trends

  • Create, monitor, track and interpret project data including contracts, schedules, budgets and cash-flows on an on-going basis

  • Assist in other special projects and assignments as they may arise from time-to-time

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.

  • 1-3 years of experience in real estate analysis and underwriting preferably in the apartment sector.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with superior Excel capabilities.

  • Ability to assess, underwrite and value multifamily real estate investments.

  • Advanced Excel experience with strong analytical and financial modeling skills.

  • Deep financial statement analysis experience. Knowledge of significant real estate and fund accounting principles a plus.

  • Analytical problem solver that can creatively devise solutions and provide tactical implementation.

  • Goal oriented, self-starter that takes initiative to effect change and/or continuous improvement.

  • Ability to think independently and present viewpoints in a thoughtful and professional manner.

  • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize multiple assignments effectively to achieve results independently and as part of a team, while consistently meeting deadlines.

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to present information in both oral and written form in a clear and concise manner.

  • Diligent, resourceful, meticulous, have a very strong work ethic and be a team player.
